EASTER!

Saturday we took the kids to what I thought would be "just an egg hunt." Turns out it was much more than an egg hunt. The town of Winter Springs put on an Easter Carnival. We ended up staying for a few hours- much longer than the 10 minutes I was expecting- and had a blast. The egg hunt was divided up into ages so every 15 minutes there was a new hunt. The kids had lots of fun playing games and of course eating all the required junk food! Sunday morning they woke up to more junk food courtesy of the Easter bunny and finished the day off with lunch at grandpa and grandmas house. The weather was beautiful! Not to hot and humid. Definitely a wonderful day to be together as a family and celebrate the wonderful gift we were all given by our Savior.

Kaitlynn turns 8!

I can't believe that my little girl turned 8 years old! This will probably be a boring post to read but since I am not a scrapbooker or a faithful journal keeper this post is for me in place of writing it in my actual journal.
Saturday we took Kaitlynn to the Magic Kingdom for her day as a princess. We let her have her face painted which we never let her do- and for dinner we let her have a turkey leg. She has wanted a turkey leg from Disney for the past 3 years so Saturday Travis took her to the concession stand and she came back with a turkey leg the size of her arm! She was so excited and ate the WHOLE thing! Grandpa and grandma met us after dinner for fireworks and the electric parade. We were freezing but had a good time.
Sunday after church we had her birthday party where she stocked up on new Hannah Montana stuff. Sadly, daddy convinced mommy that it was time to let her have her own decorative style in her bedroom so we bought her all new, horribly ugly, over the top, bright colored bedspread, pillows, rug and accessories. Hot pink, purple and silver sparkles galore! Yuck! I guess I should be grateful that she didn't want it to be red white and black checkers like I did at her age.
