Kaitlynn turns 8!

I can't believe that my little girl turned 8 years old! This will probably be a boring post to read but since I am not a scrapbooker or a faithful journal keeper this post is for me in place of writing it in my actual journal.
Saturday we took Kaitlynn to the Magic Kingdom for her day as a princess. We let her have her face painted which we never let her do- and for dinner we let her have a turkey leg. She has wanted a turkey leg from Disney for the past 3 years so Saturday Travis took her to the concession stand and she came back with a turkey leg the size of her arm! She was so excited and ate the WHOLE thing! Grandpa and grandma met us after dinner for fireworks and the electric parade. We were freezing but had a good time.
Sunday after church we had her birthday party where she stocked up on new Hannah Montana stuff. Sadly, daddy convinced mommy that it was time to let her have her own decorative style in her bedroom so we bought her all new, horribly ugly, over the top, bright colored bedspread, pillows, rug and accessories. Hot pink, purple and silver sparkles galore! Yuck! I guess I should be grateful that she didn't want it to be red white and black checkers like I did at her age.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAITLYNN!!! Looks like she had an awesome birthday! 8 is a special one so I think it's okay to go a little crazy. Not very many girls get to say that they got to go to Disney World for their birthday!

Ariann, you have an eight year old!!! Man, you're old! :)
It looks like you had a blast! How fun to have Grandparents closeby to spend the day with too! I love that you got what she wanted for her room too, isn't it hard to let them make choices that aren't what we want for them? Room decor is so trivial too, just wait until we have teens-Eeekkkk!!!

By the way, you look terrific, your hair is so long and pretty!
Love ya,
Wendy

I can't believe it's been 8 years since we made the drive to Kalispell Montana to see our first grandchild! Where has the time gone? We are blessed to live where we can enjoy some of our grandchildren. We feel picked on because we don't get to have all of them close by. I don't know how people who live long distances from all of their grandchildren stand it! Hsppy Birthday Kaity! We loved sharing the evening with you at Disney (you are so brave to go into the Haunted Mansion)and then to enjoy such a great dinner and party the next evening as well! Wow! Two birthday celebrations and we still have your baptism to look forward too! Love ya sweetheart!

That is hilarious about the turkey leg. Happy Birthday to Kaitlynn! She looks like a beautiful, smart, stylish, grown-up-little-girl! I'm sad for Aubrey's fam that they couldn't have been there to celebrate with all you guys.

Ariann! I can't believe you have an 8 year old! Way to let go on the bedroom decorating deal. I'm not looking forward to that, but you're right, it could be worse! You're a great mom. It's fun to see you're bright smiley face again! Keep in touch.
